Adding Scripts To Head Tags


Note: Theme modification involves any change to the default values in the HTML or CSS of any theme or widget. Support can direct you to the correct page to make changes or to reset the widget, page HTML or CSS to its default value. This will undo any customization that may be in place. Before you create or modify a theme using HTML and CSS it is suggested to have a backup handy.

While theme modification is outside what support is allowed to assist with, if you need assistance with making modification to the theme, our implementation department is available to make these modification at an hour rate. Javascript basics - If unsure about your script functioning in Spark Pay, it's a good rule of thumb to check with the third party . Support can instruct where it needs to go. Typically it belongs in the head tags, or the HTML editor of a specific page. For further information check with your script provider to see if it's compatible.

Head tags can be added to the theme as a whole or can be added for certain page types.


For example, you would want to add your Google Analytics scripts to your whole theme to track every page. But you may have specific scripts or styles that you want to have only on Product Pages.

To add theme wide head tags simply click the Head Tags link from the Themes section. You will be presented with an HTML editor to add any head tags to.


Head tags are not visible to the users who visit your store.

Head tags are rendered into your template using the mergecode. This should not need to be modified.



Adding To Head Tags for a Specific Page Type

To add page specific head tags you can add a special tag called a template override area.





Then add the same tag to the page type that you want the specific head tags on.

You can also add it to your product details page area if you wish it to show on every product.
