Creating multiple shipments from a single order

One of the great features is being able to create multiple shipments from one order.

No matter what you are selling, there is going to come a time when you will need to divide an order into two shipments. This allows for items from the same order to ship separately. To begin the process of dividing your shipments, you will need to select the order that you want to split up.

First, let’s navigate to Orders > Orders

Now select the order that you wish to edit and click on the edit icon.

Once in the edit screen, just under the payment information section, you will find a section called Shipments with a grey button labeled Add Shipment. Go ahead and click on it.

Now you are ready to add your shipping method. Scroll down the page to the section titled “Items”. Here is where you will specify which items will ship together.

The only basic difference between adding shipping to an order and splitting the shipping of an order is breaking it into multiple steps instead of one.

For this example, we have two items in the order that need to ship separately. As soon as you open the shipment options you will notice that there is a “1” in the quantity field for each item.

The next step is to select how many of each quantity will ship in the first individual shipment. In this example, we are shipping only the first item in that shipment. Since we are only shipping that one item, we set the second item to zero. Make sure at this point to add the tracking number for the first shipment and then click save up top.

You can repeat these steps for however many items you need to break into separate shipments.
