With the customer events in the Rule Engine you can set specific rules for when a customer's information changes, is removed, a new customer is created and you can tell it to have specific actions once this takes place.
First, navigate to Tools > Power Features > Rule Engine.
You will then see the section for "Customer Events".
Click New to create a new rule.
Now from here if you want to set up your store in a way so that if a customer is deleted, logs in, data is changed, a new customer is created or you want a timed follow up to be triggered, you will find the following:
Conditions: This checks to see if the following conditions evaluate to true (meaning they are met).
You can select this to match [any] of the following or all.
Any = as long as one of them are met. All = Strict rules, all must be met.
Select the Condition Type you'd like to use and make sure you click the [+] icon to add it and save.
Condition Types Available:
- Active Reward Points Count
- Check Customer-level Custom Field
- Check Store Level Custom Field
- Customer Email Contains
- Customer First or Last Name Contains Space
- Customer Name is All Upper or Lower Case
- Customer Order Count
- Customer Order Count Excluding Declined And Cancelled
- Customer Type
- Default to True
- Email Template Not Sent To Customer Yet
- Is Admin User
- Pending Reward Points Count
- Sales Person User
- Source
- Source Group
- Store
- Time Since Created
- Time Since Date-based Customer Custom Field
- Time Since Last Change
- Time Since Last Order
- Time Since Last Visit

- Greater Than
- Greater Than or Equal To
- Less Than
- Less Than or Equal To
- Not Equal To

Make sure you click Save and you're good to go!
